The Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation of Houston, Inc. (IEACF) is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation that was established in April 1981.
The organization was chartered by the State of Texas in June 1982; and was classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization. The IEACF was established to: (1) distribute funds for charitable, educational and scientific projects, including the making of contributions to organizations that qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code; and (2) to provide direct and indirect financial assistance to deserving high school graduating seniors and college students so that they may pursue further training.
The Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation of Houston, Inc. awarded the first scholarship in 1981.
IEACF is now approaching one million dollars in scholarships awarded to deserving students. One of the goals of the IEACF was to establish a $100,000 permanent Endowment Fund. This goal was accomplished in 2012 and efforts to increase the endowment are ongoing.
